Here’s what’s Going On This Month

Members of San Francisco Pride,

Happy New Year! As we approach SF Pride 2021, we wanted to take a cue from our own theme for this year — All in This Together — and keep you better updated on discussions at our monthly Board and Membership meetings.

Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first and second Wednesdays of the month, respectively, and they will be conducted entirely via Zoom for the foreseeable future. They are open to all, and we encourage everyone to attend and make your voices heard! You can see the schedule of upcoming meetings here.

Please make your suggestions here by Feb. 10. The Board of Directors will then present a slate of 10 nominations for the public to vote upon.

Policies and Procedures Committee

Over the decades, San Francisco Pride’s policies and procedures have grown somewhat lengthy and out-of-date. To simplify them and make it easier for the Board to conduct business, we are undertaking a major revision, section by section.

The P&P Committee has taken great care to incorporate member feedback at every stage of review. Starting this month and running through mid-May, we’ll be revising how we conduct business — and we want to hear from you! Please look over the schedule and let us know what changes you would like to see.

San Francisco Pride functions best with an engaged membership!

Board Meeting (Jan. 6, 2021)

ED Report highlights:

  • The office remains closed
  • Board committees have been very active, particularly the Community Affairs Committee and the Policies and Procedures Committee
  • SF Pride’s new Director of Partnerships and Giving, Rachel Jacob Barnett (aka “RJB”) has implemented a New Year fundraiser appeal that we encourage everyone to share. We are actively looking to incorporate community partner organizations in this year’s festivities.
  • The agency currently has 169 members in good standing
