Rochelle Fortier Nwadibia

"With over twenty-five years experience as a human rights litigator, leader, adjudicator and advisor, I hope to use my experience to further the mission of SFPRIDE.  My work in the LGBTQ community has consisted of assisting individuals on their quest for individual freedom. By joining the SFPRIDE Board, I can contribute to the SFPRIDE legacy as a voice of liberation and global equality.   
With every position I have held throughout my career, I have served as an advocate for fairness for the LGBTQ community in government service, higher education and as an attorney."

Non-Profit Board Membership Experience:

Acting Chair, and Commissioner Missouri Commission on Human Rights 1990 – 1996,

Served as Acting Chair, and on the legislative committee.  Responsible for leading the agency through statutory amendments.

Board Member, No Bully 2013 to present, providing advice and counsel on organizational development and policy

Other LGBT Movement or Organizational Experience:

Panel Attorney, AIDS Legal Referral Panel, San Francisco, CA 2005 to present

Ms. Nwadibia, a member of SFPRIDE Community Advisory Board, and serves as a Panel Attorney with the AIDS Legal Referral Panel handling pro bono cases, and training attorneys interested in representing LGBTQ clients before the Immigration Court.

Ms. Nwadibia represents LGBTQ individuals fleeing persecution and bi-national couples seeking status in the United States.

Education or Training:

Ms. Nwadibia is a graduate of Washington University School of Law, Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs, California State University, East Bay, Skyline College and Lowell High School.
