Bigger, Better Seating At This Year's Pride Parade
In response to overwhelming demand and also to accommodate the increasing numbers of people with disabilities who attend the Parade, the Pride Committee is greatly expanding the bleacher seating on this year's Parade Route.
The Bleachers which will be on the North side of Market Street on UN Plaza will provide free space and seating for approximately 200 disabled Parade viewers and their partners. In addition there will be 300 paid seats available for the general public.
Pride President Calvin Gipson said :"We want more people to fully enjoy the creative, bold and colorful experience of the Pride Parade. These are truly the best seats in the house."All admission to the viewing area is by ticket only. Tickets for those with accessibility needs are complimentary and each ticket comes with a "partner" ticket. Although free, donations are welcome and help to reward the community partner organization who will be staffing the viewing area on Parade day. In addition to the seating a special ground level area has been created for wheelchair users and their partners. The first two rows of seating are for those with disabilities and there will be an ASL interpreter in a separate section for members of the deaf and hearing impaired community to provide sign language interpretation.
Paid seating for the general public is available at a cost of $20 per ticket (advance) and $30 on the day. Purchase your tickets early. In previous years all paid seating has sold out prior to Parade Day.
Tickets are available now at the following outlets :
Golden Gate Performing Arts Community Box Office
The Pacific Center for Human Growth
The Viewing Area opens at 9.30am on Parade Day (June 27) and the Parade starts at 10.30am.
