Tax Relief Legislation for City Employees with Same-Sex Partners Signed

Legislation introduced by San Francisco supervisor Mark Farrell, which provides tax relief to city employees with same-sex partners, was recently passed by the Board of Supervisors 11-0. Health benefits for same-sex partners are currently taxed by the federal government as income. The legislation will reimburse nearly 400 city employees who receive that tax.
